Nurture – a new collaboration fusing art and psychology

Mel does the heavy lifting, and I produced a series of bite-size Chats With Charlie looking at various ways that techniques from therapy might help artists struggling with the creative process. They might also be useful for struggles in different areas. They are all about five minutes long and also showcase a range of hairstyles that betray the timeframe over which they were filmed!

The first is about using Values to find the meaningfulness that helps to drive a creative process:

The second looks at various ways to overcome creative block:

This one uses strategies to help respond with compassion to our inner critic:

Overcoming decision paralysis:

Getting unstuck when we feel bogged down in the process:

I hope they are helpful!

I have worked therapeutically with people for over a decade across a wide range of settings, helping individuals, couples, families and groups across the full age range address their concerns with anxiety and mood, sleep, chronic health conditions and other issues. If you are considering therapy, please get in touch via the Contact Me page and we have an initial 20 minute consultation for free by phone or video call to discuss your concerns, and see if you would like to proceed with me.Psychological support offers the opportunity to introduce another mind to help with processing experiences or information that might be too emotionally charged to work through alone.
